How Amaroo Was Born
Some of the most meaningful journeys begin when you least expect them. After years of working in luxury fashion, surrounded by beautiful products and fast-paced collections, I found myself searching for something deeper. I wanted to reconnect with craftsmanship, with purpose, and with the people behind the pieces we wear. That search led me to Guatemala.
I spent six months living there, immersed in a culture where creating wasn’t rushed. I watched women sit together, weaving intricate textiles entirely by hand while singing, laughing, and sharing stories. There was no pressure, no urgency. Every thread was placed with intention, every garment carried generations of tradition.
For the first time in a long time, I felt completely present. Those moments changed my understanding of fashion. Clothing no longer felt like something to consume. It became a way to preserve culture, honor craftsmanship, and celebrate the hands that create it.
That was the beginning of Amaroo.
Amaroo was founded on the belief that fashion should slow us down, not speed us up. We believe in timeless pieces over fleeting trends, natural materials over excess, and supporting artisans whose knowledge has been passed down through generations.
